This Gendaito katana is signed by Muneshige, whose real name is Shigeaki Kojo, born in Showa 7 (1932). He is known for his sharp blades, similar to his master's son, Munehisa, and is famous as the author of the legendary sword 'Sasatsuyu'. The blade comes with a dark brown ishime-nuri saya uchigatana koshirae and is suitable for iai and tameshigiri.

We could not find an authenticity certificate on the seller’s listing. Japanese swords and fittings are normally papered by the NBTHK (or the NTHK). Without one, the attribution is the seller’s own assessment and has not been independently verified — treat it with caution and ask the dealer about certification before buying.
