This is a katana made by Muneshige, a Gendaito smith from Chikuzen province, dated January, Heisei 2 (1990). Muneshige, whose real name is Shigeaki Kojo, is known for his sharp blades and is famous as the author of the legendary sword 'Sasatsuyu'. The blade comes with a black lacquered uchigatana koshirae and is suitable for iai and tameshigiri.
