This is a modern katana by smith Shigeyuki (本名: Utaka Tokio), who resides in Kasai City, Hyogo Prefecture and is an 8th dan iaido master. The blade features a wide body and thick kasane, giving it a substantial weight, with a beautiful itame-masame jigane. The hamon is a high and low choji-midare with thick ashi, indicating excellent cutting ability. It comes with a koshirae featuring modern fittings, a thick tsuka, a round openwork tsuba, and a black roiro saya.
