This newly polished Gendaito katana by Shigeteru (Utaka Tokio) features a wide body, thick kasane, and a powerful form, making it suitable for iaido and tameshigiri. The jigane shows flowing itame with masame, and the hamon is a tight choji-midare with thick ashi, indicating excellent cutting ability. It comes with a newly refurbished iaido koshirae with a re-wrapped tsuka and a black roiro saya.

We could not find an authenticity certificate on the seller’s listing. Japanese swords and fittings are normally papered by the NBTHK (or the NTHK). Without one, the attribution is the seller’s own assessment and has not been independently verified — treat it with caution and ask the dealer about certification before buying.
