This is a contemporary tanto signed Tatsuyoshi from Shizuoka prefecture, made in 1990. It is constructed in the style of an armor-piercing dagger with a thick kasane and subdued fukura. The blade features a well-forged Itame-hada with prominent chikei and a vigorous midare hamon with abundant Nie.
