NihontoWatchNihontoWatch明珍宗周の富嶽を題材とする見事な鐔です。宗周は幕府御用達の具足師、明珍氏の家系に文政元年に江戸で生まれ、明治二十年頃まで活躍しました。甲冑の名手として津山藩で活動し、勘定奉行の川路聖謨からの鎧二領の注文をこなす他、鐔も製作しています。船田一琴や園部英忠との合作もあります。

The NBTHK (Nihon Bijutsu Tōken Hozon Kyōkai, the Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords) is a public-interest incorporated foundation founded in 1948 and supervised by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs (Bunkachō); it is based at the Japanese Sword Museum in Tokyo. Its expert panels physically examine each submitted work (shinsa) and issue a certificate (kanteishō) ranking it by artistic and historical merit. NBTHK papers are the most widely recognized standard of authentication for Japanese swords and fittings.
