This antique Japanese Katana is signed by Myoitsu Inshu Jyu Hosetsu Nyudo Kanesaki, the 7th generation Kanesaki, and was forged during the Tenpo era (1830-1844) in Inaba province. It is certified as Tokubetsu Hozon by the NBTHK, indicating its high quality and preservation. The blade exhibits characteristics of the Mino Den tradition and comes with a full koshirae mounting and shirasaya.

Its expert panels physically examine each submitted work (shinsa) and issue a certificate (kanteishō) ranking it by artistic and historical merit. NBTHK papers are the most widely recognized standard of authentication for Japanese swords and fittings.
