伝新々刀(備前伝) Den Shinshinto
¥150,000
Edo
Specifications
66.7 cm
1.4 cm
3.19 cm
2.27 cm
Weight (excluding saya): 1133g It has arrived, it has arrived! Although it is mumei, a Bizen-den shinshinto from the Bakumatsu period has appeared. The sugata of this katana exhibits a thick motokasane and a grand, magnificent shape with a distinct difference between the motohaba and sakihaba. While the jigane is difficult to discern clearly, it appears to be forged in ko-itame hada. On the shinogi-ji, there is o-hada which serves as evidence of the forging process. The hamon is also not easily seen, but when held up to the light, one can observe a Bizen-den nioi-deki with ko-nie, featuring gunome choji-ba mixed with "kani-no-tsume" (crab claw) choji-ba, fired exactly like the hamon of koto Bizen Osafune. The koshirae, fitted with Edo-period kanagu, adds further elegance to this mumei Bizen-den shinshinto. We received this on consignment from an elderly Iai sensei who held onto it for many years. He stated, "I have grown old, so if this can be of use to someone, please let it go at a low price." Therefore, it is highly recommended for those who have been looking for an affordable shinken for studying sword handling, for Kendo no Kata with a shinken, or for Iai kumitachi-no-kata with a shinken. We are offering this at a special, ultra-low price this time; it is first-come, first-served. Although the maker is unknown, please enjoy this mumei Bizen-den shinshinto katana.
