NihontoWatch式正に則った大小一腰とされた内の脇差拵。掟通り鐺を丸く仕立てた鞘は黒漆塗が艶やかに輝いて美しい。栗形、返角、裏瓦は春爛漫の桜花図で、鞘と赤銅魚子地の漆黒に金色が鮮やかに映える。縁頭は赤銅磨地に所持者の家の亀甲唐花紋散図で、これも黒に金の対比をなし、見栄えと格調の高さを演出している。拵に納められた二尺程の刀を大磨上とした無銘の脇差は、天正頃の壽命(としなが)とみられる一振。

Mino in the Momoyama period
Unification closed the mass market, and Seki’s smiths moved to where the new money was: the Mishina line to Kyōto with court titles, Daidō smiths to castle towns across the provinces. Mino became the great technical ancestor of the Shintō age.
