Description

This is a tanto attributed to the Gassan school, specifically an older work referred to as Ko-Gassan from the Muromachi era in Dewa Province. It exhibits the distinctive Ayasugi-hada (wood grain pattern) in the jigane, a traditional forging method of the Gassan smiths. The blade is accompanied by an NBTHK Hozon certification.
