Muromachi turned sword making into an industry: the uchigatana rose with massed infantry warfare, Osafune and Seki produced bundle swords beside custom orders, and the Ming trade carried Japanese blades abroad by the tens of thousands.
This katana is attributed to Sakakura Gon-no-shi Terukane, though the signature is considered false. The blade features a standard width, thin kasane, and moderate curvature, with a tight ko-itame hada mixed with masame hada. The hamon is suguha but indistinct, making it more suitable for practical use like Iaido than for appreciation.
