Owazamono of the Heisei-era Modern sword Hokinokuni ju Nobuhide with Koshirae. 伯耆国住延秀は、鳥取県・大山の麓で作刀し、その卓越した切れ味で抜刀の世界でも高く評価された刀匠です。本作は、流れごころのある板目肌に見事な互の目乱れを焼いた一振り。使用感はほとんどなく、刀身・拵ともに状態良好で、すぐに居合や試斬でお使いいただけます。 Hoki no Kuni Ju Nobuhide was a swordsmith who worked at the foot of Mt. Daisen in Tottori Prefecture. His swords are highly regarded in the world of battodo for their exceptional cutting performance. This sword features a flowing itame hada with a superb gunome-midare hamon. It shows no signs of use, and both the blade and koshirae are in excellent condition, ready for immediate use in iaido or test cutting. 「刀姿 sword figure」鎬造り庵棟、身幅重尋常、鳥居反りで中峰。茎は生で化粧鑢がかかり、茎尻は刃上がりの栗尻。 Shinogi-zukuri with an iori-mune, with standard mihaba and kasane, torii-zori, and a chu-kissaki. The nakago is ubu with kesho-yasurime, and the nakago-jiri is ha-agari kurijiri. 「地鉄 jigane」地鉄は板目肌が流れ柾と成り、地沸厚く付き、所々に地景が現れる。 The jihada is a flowing itame that becomes masame, with thick ji-nie and chikei appearing in places. 「刃紋 hamon」刃紋は互の目乱れ刃で、刃縁荒沸が付き砂流しかかる。刃中は金筋が良く働き、葉が入る。鋩子は湾れ込んで先掃き掻け小丸へと返る。 The hamon is gunome-midare, with coarse nie along the habuchi and sunagashi. Kinsuji works prominently within the ha, accompanied by yo. The boshi is notare-komi, with hakikake at the tip, turning back in a komaru. 「特徴 detailed」伯耆国住延秀(本名:前田秀志)は、昭和3年(1928年)8月18日、鳥取県日野郡江府町佐川に生まれました。師は、川島忠善の弟子であった父・前田喜太郎刀匠(銘:義輝)です。大山の麓・佐川で鍛えられた延秀の刀は、その卓越した切れ味で世界的に知られ、とりわけ抜刀の世界では「神がかり的な性能」を持つ名刀として高く評価されています。抜刀道龍星剣宗家・猿田光廣先生(「試し斬りしてちゃんと斬れるものが名刀です」で知られる)も、延秀の刀を愛刀としていました。猿田先生は1998年9月20日、名古屋・東海テレビテレピアホールにて、竹に畳表を一巻きした標的1,000本を、刀を替えることなく、一本の斬り損じもなく、1時間36分36秒で連続斬りするという偉業を達成しました。この記録は2000年11月、正式にギネスブックに掲載されています。また、『ラストサムライ』に出演した俳優・武道家のリー村山氏も延秀を愛刀としており、殺陣と試斬を融合させた素晴らしい演武を国内外で披露しています。本作は、流れごころのあるよく詰んだ板目肌に、見事な互の目乱れを焼いた、出来の素晴らしい一振りです。状態から見ても使用感はなく、居合や試斬には使用されず、鑑賞用として大切に所蔵されていたものと思われます。刀身には鍛え割れなどの目立つ欠点もなく、非常に良好な状態です。拵もほぼ新品の状態を保っており、ご購入後すぐに居合や試斬でお使いいただけます。 Hoki no Kuni Ju Nobuhide (real name: Maeda Hideshi) was born on August 18, 1928, in Sagawa, Kofu-cho, Hino-gun, Tottori Prefecture. He studied under his father, swordsmith Maeda Kitaro (art name: Yoshiteru), who had himself trained under Kawashima Tadayoshi. Forged in Sagawa at the foot of Mt. Daisen, Nobuhide’s swords are renowned worldwide for their exceptional cutting ability. In particular, in the world of battodo, his swords are highly regarded as masterpieces possessing almost legendary cutting performance. Mitsuhiro Saruta, headmaster of Battodo Ryuseiken and well known for his saying, “A truly great sword is one that cuts properly in actual test cutting,” also favored a Nobuhide sword as his personal blade. On September 20, 1998, at the Tokai Television Telepia Hall in Nagoya, Saruta accomplished the remarkable feat of cutting 1,000 targets, each consisting of bamboo wrapped with a single layer of tatami omote. Using the same sword throughout, he completed all 1,000 cuts without a single failed cut in 1 hour, 36 minutes, and 36 seconds. This achievement was officially listed in the Guinness Book of Records in November 2000. Actor and martial artist Lee Murayama, who appeared in The Last Samurai, is also known to favor a Nobuhide sword and has performed impressive demonstrations in Japan and overseas, combining theatrical swordsmanship with actual test cutting. This particular sword is an exceptionally fine example, featuring a well-forged, tightly knit itame hada with a flowing character and a superb gunome-midare hamon. Judging from its condition, the sword shows no signs of use and appears never to have been used for iaido or test cutting, but rather carefully preserved for appreciation. The blade is in excellent condition, with no noticeable flaws such as forging cracks. The koshirae also remains in nearly new condition, making the sword ready for immediate use in iaido or test cutting. 「拵 Koshirae」鎺(habaki) :素銅地一重の縦鑢。鍔(tsuba) :素銅地唐人遊興図。縁頭(fhchikashira):素銅地石目桜の図。目貫(menuki) :龍の図。柄(tsuka) :鮫は親粒が付く、柄巻は正絹黒の諸捻り巻。鞘(saya) :黒呂。「刀剣の状態 condition of blade」研:良好です。傷:欠点に成るような傷は有りません。
