Umetada Tsuba for Sale
The Umetada school of Kyoto, led by the celebrated Umetada Myoju, stood at the transition between swordsmithing and fitting art in the Momoyama period. Its tsuba are inventive and painterly — flat iron or brass grounds with bold inlay (zogan) and pierced design. Umetada work is prized as a creative turning point in tosogu history.
