The period spans remarkable range, from the refined early work of the Ōei-Bizen smiths to the vigorous later production of Sue-Bizen and the Seki (Mino) tradition that armed the Sengoku wars. For collectors it offers genuine period katana — blades made as katana, not converted from tachi — at every level of the market.
