Koto Tanto for Sale
Koto tanto are among the most treasured items in nihonto collecting. The Kamakura and Nanbokucho periods produced an extraordinary concentration of tanto masterworks by the greatest smiths in history — Masamune, Sadamune, Shintogo Kunimitsu, and Awataguchi Yoshimitsu. The compact blade form demanded the highest skill and allowed smiths to express the full range of their artistry. Many Koto tanto carry NBTHK Juyo or Tokubetsu Juyo designations, reflecting their exceptional quality and historical importance.
