This is a wakizashi by the rare smith Tanba Kami Fujiwara Jumyo, active around the Kanei era of the Edo period. It features a wide body, thick kasane, and a wide kissaki with bohi on both sides. The blade exhibits fine koitame hada and a well-crafted suguha hamon with many ko-ashi, accompanied by a koshirae with a tomoe sukashi tsuba and dragon-themed fittings.

Its expert panels physically examine each submitted work (shinsa) and issue a certificate (kanteishō) ranking it by artistic and historical merit. NBTHK papers are the most widely recognized standard of authentication for Japanese swords and fittings.
