This is a modern katana made by Akamatsu Taro Kaneteru (Kimura Kanehiro) from Higo Province, dated Reiwa 5 (2023). It is designed as a lightweight iaito suitable for iai and tameshigiri, featuring a black lacquered leather-wrapped saya uchigatana koshirae. The blade has a nagasa of 72.9 cm and a sori of 1.6 cm, with a weight of 560g (blade only). The smith, Kimura Kanehiro, is a member of the All Japan Swordsmith Association and is known for his powerful style inspired by Kiyomaro.
