This is a tanto koshirae (mounting) featuring an inro kizami kin nashi-ji nuri saya (scabbard with gold pear-skin lacquer inro-style carving). The saya has a slightly widened and rounded end, reminiscent of an ebi-saya (shrimp scabbard). The tsuka (handle) is finished in black ishime-ji for grip, with a narrow, tapered shape and a fine katate-maki (single-hand wrap) for an exquisite fit in the palm.
