This is a katana by Shichibe no jyou Sukesada, a representative smith of the Osafune school during the early Edo period. Dated 1664, it features a long, elegant form with a high sori, fine ko-itame hada, and a vibrant gunome-midare hamon. The accompanying koshirae is a splendid maki-e mounting adorned with the Rokumonsen and wisteria, and the tsuba is signed by Fujita Toshiju, featuring intricate metal inlay depicting a court figure.
