This is a mitokoromono (set of three sword fittings) by Gotou Denjyo, the 4th generation of the Kiheibei line of the Goto family, who served the Tokugawa Shogunate during the late Edo period. It features a design of Mitsuba Aoi (triple hollyhock crest) in iro-e on a shakudo nanako ground. The work is beautifully executed with a refined and dignified style, characteristic of the Goto school.
