Description

This antique Japanese Katana was forged by Motochika, an active swordsmith during the late Muromachi period (1532-1555) in Sagami province. He was a practitioner of the Soshu Den tradition, known for its unique sword-forging techniques. The blade features a Sanscrit letter and "Namu Fudo Myo-O" engraving, and is an unshortened (Ubu Nakago) piece, which is rare for its age. It comes with an NBTHK Hozon Certificate.
