This is a rare katana by Shodai Ippô, the founder of the Ômi branch of the Ishidô school, active during the Kan’ei era (1624–1644). It features a tight itame-hada with mokume, thick ji-nie, and a free-flowing gunome-chôji-midare hamon. The blade is accompanied by NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon certification and a late-Edo koshirae with a Kurobane Katsutoshi tsuba and Higo-style fuchi-kashira.
