Description

Minamoto Ippō katana with a rare gold inlaid saidan mei, tested by Nezu Saburōbei no Jō Mitsumasa in 1700, cutting through three bodies. The blade is mounted in shirasaya and also kohirae with a sukashi iron crane motif tsuba. The fuchi kashira are shakudo with gold mons, and the menuki are also shakudo with cranes in gold.
