This is an unsigned iron tsuba attributed to the 1st Generation Akasaka Tadamasa, dating from the early Edo period. It features a round shape with openwork designs of myoga (ginger), karigane (wild geese), and yukiwa (snowflakes) in a symmetrical arrangement. The tsuba is thick and substantial, with a lustrous black iron surface and visible iron bones (tetsu-hone) on the rim, characteristic of early Akasaka works.
