Description

This is an unsigned Akasaka tsuba by Tadahora from the early Edo period. It features a round iron plate with an openwork design of a country house, mist, and cuckoos, characteristic of Tadahora's artistic style. The tsuba exhibits a lustrous iron color and the distinctive three-layer forging of Akasaka works, and comes with an NBTHK Hozon Tosogu paper.
