This is a wakizashi made by the 3rd generation Hoki no Kami Nobutaka of the Owari school, active during the Shinto period (circa 1673-1681). The blade features a nie-deki suguha hamon with notare and gunome, and itame mixed with mokume kitae. It has both Tokubetsu Hozon and Koshu Tokubetsu Kicho papers, along with an antique gold foil habaki and an old shirasaya.
