This is a Sasa-ho yari (spear) made by Echigo no Kami Fujiwara no Rai Kinmichi in Yamashiro province during the Keicho era (early Edo period). The spear features an "Uchi-hi" engraving with shu-urushi nuri (red lacquer) on the back face and comes with both shirasaya and shu tataki-nuri saya. It has been certified as Tokubetsu-hozon by NBTHK.
