This is a tanto by Kunimune of the Uda school, dating to the early Muromachi period (around Oei era). Such early works by Kunimune are extremely rare, as most of his surviving blades are from the later Sengoku period. The signature style, particularly the characters for "Uda" and "Kunimune," closely resembles a tanto signed by Uda Kunimune dated Oei 13th year (1406).
