This is a wakizashi made by the renowned smith Akitsugu Amada, dated Showa Kinoto-U Toshi Yasaka Seibi (Showa 50). Amada Akitsugu, a student of Kurihara Hikosaburo Akihide, was certified as a Mukansa smith in 1972 and later designated a Living National Treasure in 1997. He is known for his reproductions of ancient swords and work on Ise Grand Shrine's ceremonial swords.
