This tanto is made by Masahira, a student of the Living National Treasure Miyairi Yukihira, who established his own workshop in 1975. Crafted in the style of the famous Aizu Shintogo Kunimitsu, a National Treasure, it features a wide mitsumune, deep sori, and a robust, elegant form. The jigane is a finely forged ko-itame with ji-nie and faint utsuri.
