This is a magnificent hirasankaku omi yari (large triangular spear) made by Dodanuki Hyobu. He served Kato Kiyomasa, who became the lord of Higo Province during the Momoyama period (around Tensho era). The robust and powerful nature of Dodanuki swords, spears, and naginata, which are not easily broken, perfectly embodies the spirit of the Sengoku period.
