This katana is signed by the modern smith Kunitada, born in 1954 in Omuta City, Fukuoka Prefecture. He began forging in 1972 under his grandfather Kunimitsu, a renowned smith. The blade features a strong jitetsu with itame-hada mixed with masame-hada, and a vibrant choji-midare hamon with abundant nie and nioi. It comes with a koshirae featuring a black roiro saya.

We could not find an authenticity certificate on the seller’s listing. Japanese swords and fittings are normally papered by the NBTHK (or the NTHK). Without one, the attribution is the seller’s own assessment and has not been independently verified — treat it with caution and ask the dealer about certification before buying.
