This is a tanto made by Kiyonao in October of Heisei 12 (2000). The blade was forged using old nails from the main hall of Hojuin Temple. Kiyonao's real name is Takashi Matsukawa, born in Nagano Prefecture in Showa 30 (1955). He apprenticed with Kiyomune Miyairi, the younger brother of Living National Treasure Shohei Miyairi.
