This is a tanto made by Yoshihiro in Fukuoka prefecture during the Heisei era (2007). Yoshihiro, whose real name is Seto Yoshihiro, was born in Fukuoka prefecture in 1945 and became a student of Sumitani Masamine, a Living National Treasure, at the age of 25. He has won numerous awards at the New Swords Exhibition and became a non-inspected swordsmith at the same exhibition in 1996. This piece is a copy of Aoe Tsugunao's gyaku-choji midare.
