The fuchi-kashira, kuchigane, kurigata, kashiwaba-kanamono, and kojiri are an issaku-soroimono set featuring a hatomon design with kin-ko-fuchi. It originally housed a sword of considerable length, and the robustly crafted fittings are said to feature a dynamic design of yamagane nanako-ji takabori kin-iroe. The menuki, featuring a design of three pairs of maru-ni-kumi-igeta-mon, are shakudo-ji katachibori with kin-iroe, set upon shiro-samegawa with a firmly bound tsumamimaki-tsuka using vibrant konjo-iro-ito. The robust saya, finished in kuro ishime-ji nuri, is discreetly decorated with the same maru-ni-kumi-igeta family crest as the menuki using the kage-makie technique. The tetsu-ji mokko-gata tsuba, a sturdy construction of the Umetada school, is decorated with ichimegasa scattered across an ajiromon-ji ground, enveloped in a refined, dark black iron luster. Without one, the attribution is the seller’s own assessment and has not been independently verified — treat it with caution and ask the dealer about certification before buying.
