C252. Early Tosho (sword maker) tsuba. 8.2 x 8.2 x .3 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.8 cm. This tsuba comes with a Hozon paper from the NBTHK, dated 2018 and giving it to Tosho; both the consignor and I believe this to be early Tosho. A conch shell and a Shinto priest’s hat are the sukashi; the iron is excellent with gobs of tekkotsu on the rim. Condition is great; comes with a box and pillow. Was $1,200; now $800.
