This is a two-sword stand (katana kake) featuring a roironuri (lacquer) finish with a makie (lacquer design) of the 'Chigai Takanoha Mon' (crossed hawk feathers crest), traditionally associated with the Asano family of Geishu. The stand is signed by Yamada Tsuneyoshi, a makie artist who served as an official inro maker for the shogunate. Originally from the early Edo period, it was refurbished and re-lacquered in the mid-Edo period, and comes with a period lacquered box and furoshiki.

Without one, the attribution is the seller’s own assessment and has not been independently verified — treat it with caution and ask the dealer about certification before buying.
