This is an outstanding Iwai menpo, a type of Japanese face armor, featuring perfectly executed Yasurime (file marks). It is crafted from iron and dates back to the early to mid-Edo period, circa 1700 AD. The menpo also boasts a distinctive gold moustache and comes with a NKBKHK Tokubetsu Kicho certificate.
