The Shikkake school flourished at the foot of Mt. Kasuga in Nara, and its founder is said to be Noritaka. The sugata features a standard width and thickness with a graceful sori, retaining the dignified atmosphere of the late Kamakura period. The jigane is a dense itame mixed with nagare-masame, showing a beautiful shirake-utsuri. The hamon is a chu-suguha based on hotsure and uchi-no-ke, with active sunagashi and kinsuji appearing within the ha, exhibiting the characteristic traits of the Yamato school.
