This is a pair of Kyo-Kinko menuki featuring a菱 (hishi) design on a shakudo ground. The design depicts hishi flowers and fruits in katachibori (sculpted in the round). The piece utilizes polished and ishime (stone-patterned) surfaces to create a subtle contrast without the use of colored inlays, resulting in a refined and understated aesthetic.
