This is a tanto by Shoboken Yoshiyuki, a master swordsmith from the late Edo period (Shin-Shinto era) who served the Izumo domain. Dated Kaei 7 (1854), it features a beautiful shobu-zukuri shape with horimono of bonji and goma-hi. The koshirae is an original aikuchi koshirae with an ishime-nuri finish and cherry blossom motifs, complemented by shibuichi fittings.
