This is a long and commanding katana by Nidai Ippô, a smith of considerable standing in early Edo Japan from the Ômi-Ishido school. It features a well-forged jihada and a bursting gunome-chôji-midare hamon with impressive ashi. The sword is complemented by a superb set of Late Edo period koshirae and holds a Jûyô Tôken designation.
