Description

This is an Omiyari (large spear) by Sanjyo Yoshinori, a prominent smith from the mid-Muromachi period in Yamashiro province. It features a hira-sankaku-zukuri shape with a normal body width and an extended kera-kubi. The jigane is a well-forged ko-itame with abundant ji-nie and chikei, while the hamon is a suguha-cho with shallow notare, small ashi, ko-nie, kinsuji, and sunagashi, characteristic of Kyoto works. The spear is accompanied by an NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper.
