Description

This is an unsigned Owari school tsuba from the early Muromachi period, featuring a round iron plate with a bold openwork design of four pine bark lozenges. It exhibits the characteristic robust iron and hammered finish associated with early Owari work, while also showing refined craftsmanship and a hint of Momoyama period aesthetics. The tsuba is certified as Hozon Tosogu by the NBTHK.
