This is an unsigned wakizashi attributed to Musashi no Kami Kanenaka from Echizen province. The blade features an itame hada mixed with mokume, well-packed with fine ji-nie and faint utsuri. The hamon is gunome midare with pointed sections, a plump nioi-guchi, and abundant ko-nie, with active ashi and yo. Fine kinsuji and faint sunagashi are present, resulting in a bright and clear appearance. It comes with an aogai chirashi nuri saya wakizashi koshirae and is certified Hozon Token.

Its expert panels physically examine each submitted work (shinsa) and issue a certificate (kanteishō) ranking it by artistic and historical merit. NBTHK papers are the most widely recognized standard of authentication for Japanese swords and fittings.
