This is a tanto by Nigara Kunitoshi, made in 1980 when he was 74 years old. It was formerly owned by the 45th Yokozuna Wakanohana I. The blade features a tight ko-mokume hada, clear jihada, and a bright suguha hamon, reflecting the smith's high skill as a Gendaito master.

We could not find an authenticity certificate on the seller’s listing. Japanese swords and fittings are normally papered by the NBTHK (or the NTHK).
