Description

This is an iron tsuba featuring a design of peonies and lions. It is mumei (unsigned) and attributed to the Shonai school. The tsuba is made of iron with sukidashi takabori (carved in relief) and features openwork and two hitsu-ana (holes). The rim is covered with shakudo.
