About the maker
Yokoyama Sukekane祐包
This is a tanto made by Yokoyama Sukekane of the Osafune school in Bizen province during the Meiji era. The blade features a well-grained ko-itame hada and a bright hamon with a flamboyant choji pattern. It comes with a shirasaya and a koshirae featuring a wave and plover (chidori) design in gold lacquer.
