This is an unsigned Edo period tsuba by a Kyo-Kanagushi maker, featuring a flower petal openwork design on a suaka (copper) ground with amida yasuri (radiating file marks). It is a large and ornate piece with careful file work and color application even within the sukashi and hitsu-ana. The tsuba comes with an NBTHK Hozon Tosogu certificate.
