This is a tsuba (sword guard) made in the Muromachi period. It features a thin iron plate with a round shape and simple openwork carving. The design incorporates brass inlay, particularly around the hitsu-ana (holes for kozuka and kogai) and seppa-dai (washer seat), with star-shaped brass inlays. This type of tsuba is known as an Ounin tsuba.
